CALCEDOINE

Used for thousands of years, Chalcedony is one of the first stones worked by man. Known for its visual softness and milky hues ranging from pale blue to light grey, it has been carved into seals, jewelry and sacred objects since Antiquity. Its name comes from the ancient city of Chalcedon (today Kadıköy in Turkey), an important center of the gemstone trade in Greco-Roman times. Appreciated for its silky brilliance and calm energy, Chalcedony today is associated with benevolent communication, inner balance and serenity.
