IDENTITY CARD

ZIRCON

Zircon is one of the oldest known stones in the earth's crust, with some crystals dating back over 4.4 billion years. With its intense brilliance, diamond-like fire and broad palette of natural colors, it embodies purity, ancient wisdom and lucidity. Too often mistaken for synthetic imitations (such as cubic zirconium), the real zircon is a noble, powerful natural gem that is often overlooked by the general public.

A little history

Zircon is mentioned in Sanskrit texts under the name of jargoonIt was cut in India long before the modern era. In the Middle Ages, it was used as a talisman against nightmares and to promote peaceful sleep. Some zircons are so old that they have enabled scientists to estimate the age of the earth's crust using uranium-lead dating. Although little-known by the general public, it is now being rediscovered as an exceptional natural gemstone.
