HEMATITE
Since ancient times, Hematite has been associated with vitality and protection. Its name comes from the Greek haimawhich means "blood", in reference to the intense red color of its powder when ground. Used by Egyptian, Roman and Native American civilizations for its protective and healing properties, it was also one of the first iron ores mined by man. Its silvery-grey metallic lustre and deep connection to the Earth make it a stone of stability and inner strength to this day.

In the Middle Ages, Hematite was believed to have the power to stop hemorrhaging, earning it the nickname of "bloodstone".
